With the increasing cost of energy around the world, issues with pollution, global warming, and reduced incomes, the topics of energy conservations and alternative energy sources are becoming important ones. More and more people today are looking to reduce overall consumption and dependence on traditional fossil fuels. This is no different in Atlantic Canada where the topics of wind farms and fuel prices are almost an everyday item for discussion.

To help promote the topics surrounding alternative energy, conservation, and related issues, atlanticenergy.ca was born. The site is intended as a central Internet portal for these topics as they related to the Atlantic region of Canada, covering New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland & Labrador.

The site is developed and maintained by Schooner Solutions Inc, an IT consulting company based in Halifax, NS. Mark Langille, the president of Schooner Solutions has a keen interest in alternative energy and conservation and developed the website out of the combined interest and technical skills in the IT field.
