A Nova Scotia company has joined forces with one from Britain in hopes of building the largest water turbines in the world in the Bay of Fundy. But first they've got to beat out the competition for government approval. Nova Scotia-based Maritime Tidal Energy Corporation announced Thursday it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Marine Current Turbines to develop tidal projects in the Bay of Fundy.

Tidal power development in the Bay of Fundy was back on the agenda Thursday thanks to a key international agreement announced between Maritime Tidal Energy Corporation of Halifax and UK-based Marine Current Turbines (MCT) Limited.
